Pigs: As an aid in the control of diseases caused by chlortetracycline sensitive organisms, e.g. atrophic rhinitis, enzootic pneumonia, Actinobacillus (Haemophilus) pleuro-pneumonia, necrotic enteritis.

Fowl: For the treatment and control of susceptible gastro-intestinal and respiratory infections.

Cattle: Recommended for oral administration via feed as an aid in the prevention and control of disease in beef cattle, caused by organisms susceptible to chlortetracycline. Calves: An aid in the control of bacterial enteritis, primary or secondary bacterial pneumonia and other bacterial infections, particularly if the calf is subject to stress following housing changes, transportation or chilling.

Composition :

Chlortetracycline 200 g (20 %) per kg.

Dosage and administration :

For oral administration after incorporation in complete feed. To ensure thorough dispersal, Phenix® CTC 20 % should be first mixed with 25 kg feed ingredients before incorporation in the final mix. Included in feed at a rate of 1,5-2 kg/ton of complete feed to supply the equivalent of 300-400 ppm dietary chlortetracycline.

Swine: Phenix® CTC 20 % should be included in the feed to provide a dose of 20 mg chlortetracycline per kg body mass daily. This can generally be achieved by adding 2 kg Phenix® CTC 20 % per ton of complete feed. This may be increased up to 6 kg per ton of complete feed at a veterinary surgeon’s discretion to ensure adequate dosing of inappetence animals.

Fowls: The recommended dose is 20-60 mg chlortetracycline per kg body mass daily. This can generally be achieved by adding 1,5-2 kg Phenix® CTC 20 % per ton of complete feed. This constitutes an average dose, but dosage levels may be varied between 100 ppm and 500 ppm according to the nature of and severity of infection, feed intake in relation to body mass and the appetite of diseased animals.

Treatment is recommended for 5-7 days for pigs, fowl, cattle and calves. Allow treated pigs, fowl, cattle and calves access only to medicated feed during treatment.
